Kafka's writing contributed to my better
understanding of the Gothic because he showed in a way a different side of
Gothic writing. He took events that happened in his life and created them into
short stories that are very controversy as to what the meaning behind each
story is. At first I didn't like Kafka's writing at all, but now having gone
through the Kafka museum in Prague, I have more of an approbation for how he
wrote stylistically, but I still do not like his works. He went through a lot
during his lifetime that I can understand why he wrote what he wrote. He tried to
covey that as individuals we all have different perspectives as to what is
right or wrong that we don't even know what the reality is. Which overall helps
get a better grasp on the Gothic writing.
