Compare and Contrast the Cathedrals in Vienna and Prague.
The first church we visited in Vienna was the Stephan's Dom church. This church was originally built in 1137 and is a Roman Catholic Church which was the Empire. In Gothic times they wanted a crystal building, which is why there are so many stained glass windows inside because crystal buildings were talked about in the bible. The church had burned down at one point during a war and they had to rebuild it and it took 7 years to finish it.
The other two churches we visited were in Prague which were the St. Vitus and St. George churches. St. Vitus was a very structured church and was also extremely Gothic. It was also a lot bigger than St. George. St. George was more of a Roman style church and it had more of a private and secluded feel to it, as though you had to be of a certain hexarchy or wealth to be able to go there and St. Vitus was more for the public. Overall, Stephan's Dom was most like St. Vitus because they were both very large, very gothic churches and both of the churches were considered the Empire.
